Good Morning Hood,
Dose anyone know the rules on saleing to a buyer that has been blocked? I have a buyer that says I have blocked them from buying from me. But what I don`t understand, buyer was not on my block list.

The buyer has been sending me messages for 3 days now and will not take no for an anwser.
I think this is someone I blocked and now they are coming @ me in a different name.

Buyer demands me to left block...How do I make buyer stop. I told buyer I don`t want to sell to them and buyer said they will turn me in to ebay...Why??? I thought I have the right to say NO. Do I?

HELP!!! any good advise?

Good morning Fish,

If you have blocked this buyer in the past and that buyer changed their user ID, then the new ID will also be blocked automatically. You can check to see if they have a new ID name by looking at their feedback page. Over to the right you should see a link that says, "View more options" under that link there is another link that says "View ID History". There you can see if they have changed user ID's and how many times and when. The only time the block does not work is if they open a NEW account with a new ID.

You may also have it set in your setttings under "Site Preferences" (in your MY EBAY) to automatically block certain users who have less than 0 feedback scores or users who have policy violations so check your settings.

You do not have to sell to a blocked bidder and you do not have to take any harassment from any buyer so you should consider reporting it to Ebay if it continues.

Best wishes,

Bobbie.

Good Evening Bobbie,

Thank you for the info. I did stay firm and told buyer to stop emailing me over and over, trying to change my mind.
The block came up because buyer had a few unpaid tickets.

I`m so glad that`s over...

Best Wishes,
Fish

Hi, Fish! Stand Firm! There can be some real deadbeats out there. I also have the defaults that block buyers with poor scores. I really wish that ebay would let me block newbies with less than 20 feedbacks, too!

Fish, Have you ever reported someone who did not pay so you can get a fee refund? After you submit the final closing of the case you get the option to block them from future purchases. If you clicked on that, you may not have realized it adds them to a list you can maintain. I have a LOT of users on my list, and I would have no way to remember why each is on it. So I would just assume I had a good reason and not remove them.

Hi everyone,

I am fairly new to this forum and to ebay in general but no one should be made to feel they have to do business with someone.

As a seller, you may chose to use ebay as a venue to sell a product or service and, as a buyer, you may chose to purchase a product or service but, unless there has been an implied contract with the exchange of money, I would think the potential buyer is without a leg to stand on. How can someone be forced to sell something to another person?

As mentioned, I am fairly new to ebay with only a few items purchased but every item purchased has been paid within minutes of being notified. I live in Canada so it takes a little longer for items to ship across the border but feedback is provided to the seller as soon as the item is received.

Kudos to ebay for not allowing sellers to block buyers with less than twenty feedbacks. Why should I be penalized because I have just joined? On the other hand, I would be happy to give my money to a company who is not going to judge me based on a number or color of stars that follow my ID.

Hi Olivia,

I cannot agree on the kudos to eBay on not allowing sellers to block new buyers. Why? Well, over the last 30 days I have had to file for a refund on 3 sales, all to users with less than 10 and all 3 did not pay, won’t respond and yet have gone on to buy from other sellers after they bought from me. In fact I have to file on 2 to 9 a month who are not paying and are new users. It is annoying and as a seller I feel I should have the right to block them. At minimum if a case is filed and the buyer fails to respond the buyer upon closing the case and the buyer has had other cases filed on them in the past 6 months, we should be allowed to leave a negative feedback. Other sellers should know if a buyer is playing games. The ability to refuse to sell to users with less than a 10 feedback would be just like days gone by when a store would refuse to take a check with a umber less than 150. And I remember those days well.

The “judging” of users (buyers and sellers) happen because a user sees a pattern. No, not every seller or buyer will be the “bad” user, but since I get so many per month I feel I should have the right to protect myself.

I agree with all of you in regard to blocking newbies. 100% of the selling problems that I have were from people new to ebay. But, since I cannot block them, what I did was; put conditions in my listing.

Any potiential buyers/bidders who have less then 10 feedbacks must email me for my approval before bidding on my items, or their bids will be cannceled. If they went ahead and bid without my approval, I then keep my promise, I canceled their bids. It works.

Hi, Amy! How exactly do you "Cancel a Bid?"

hi, ladybug,
Here's how I do it. I put in my listing that for any bidders how have less then 10 feedbacks must email me for my approval prior to bidding on my item. So if they bids without my approval, I then go to bids history and at the bottom of the history list, there is a cancel bid option. Click on the that, then the system will ask for the bidder who you want to cancel their bids. You just type in the user ID and submit it.
I just had one buyer with 0 feedback bided on one of my item and did not pay. It was my fault, I did not put that condition in my listing. I hope this helps.

That is really strange. What is the item he wants so badly?

Hi, again, Amy! So you wait until the auction is concluded and then you just click and cancel the ones that did not qualify? Or do you cancel them out while the bidding is on-going? I never knew this option existed before!

Hi, Idybug,
I canceled the bids while the bidding was still going on. If I don't canceled their bids, they will just keep bidding until they won the auction, thus keeping the honest bidders from get the items that they want and willing to pay for. Sometimes after I canceled their bids, they would still come back and bids again, then I cancel it again. If I had to do it more than two times on the same bidder, I would then block them from future bidding on any of my items. I know it souds harsh, but sometimes it's necessary.

Fish...I'm sorry you're having this trouble. I agree...stand firm...do not let this buyer bully you into removing the block. Forward all harrassing messages to Ebay...
