Good Evening Cat Lover`s,

I need your input. A Mama cat left her baby`s under the crawl space, under the house. I can hear the babies crying. It`s got me worried sick. I have been watching for the Mama cat, but she has not come home for 2 days now.
What should I do? Should I put food under the house until Mama cat comes home? I` m not getting any sleep over this. Plus to top it off I had the chase the coons away from the den last night. I think the meowing is making coons come.
Any input would be great!

Best Wishes,
Fish

Hi Fish,
I would give you advice, but I have no first hand experience in this situation... BUT I know someone who does. A member on my websites messageboard. So my advice is to go to www.coolcybercats.com and sign up, go to the messageboard and post a message titled "John... HELP", and explain the situation. He is on the board every night and you should have a quick reply. He will be able to offer better advice than I in this situation.

SIncerely,

David

Hi there, Fish! I really cannot imagine a Queen leaving kittens that long unless something terrible has happened to her. If she has not returned in the morning, then it is time for Fish to go to the rescue!

Hi David,
Ok, I will check out page. How are you doing? Thanks so much for your input.

Hi Ldybug,
Fish will save the babys if I have to crawl under home to get them. Do you really thing something happened to Mama cat? I thought she was in heat again and out lookin` for some cookies.
I`m wondering what type of gear I should wear when I go under there. I mean they are old enough to eat a dead bunny. Because I found a half eaten bunny on site.
I don`t want to sound like a chicken, ok I`m chicken. Will they claw my eyes out if I crawl into the den?

Hey, Fish! When we were rescuing feral kittens from under the shed, I wore thick welding gloves and a long sleeve shirt. I took the pool tools with the bagger net and long metal pole. I was able to reach one kitten at a time by dropping the net over them and dragging the net back out hand-over-hand. Do you know someone with pool tools? Tis the season, and the equipment is pretty cheap at the Big Box discount stores if you need to buy it. That might save you from having to crawl too far under the house. Good Luck!

Good Evening Friends,
Rex that sounds like a great plan. The babys were not to far under the house.
I went under first thing this morning. 2 of the four babys were alive. I rushed them to the vet. I`m not sure they will make it. They were so weak didn`t put up any fight..
I found Mama cat down the road, she had been hit by a car. If the 2 babies make it I will keep them. Tommy and Miss Kitty like friends.
I`m so upset w/myself for not going under there sooner.

Please pray for the new babies.

Best Wishes,
Fish

Hey, Fish! Please do not be sad. The guardian angel was on your shoulder to tell you to go and look because kitties were in distress. Then the good Lord blessed you with courage to go under the house even when it looked dark, scary and filled with webs and spiders. Mother Nature sometimes seems cruel, but fate always brings happy surprises when we least expect them. Please let us know how the little ones fare. Best wishes for the happiest of endings.

Good Evening Friends,

The two babies pasted away this morning. The vet said they were in multiple organ failure. So I held each one as the doctor sent them the God.
I`m sad. I feel so bad, I didn`t go under the house sooner. Thank you all for you help.

Best Wishes,
Fish

Please, Fish, try not be sad. Sometimes Mother Nature, and the Good Lord's purposes, are not fully understood nor appreciated. It was NOT in your destiny to intervene on behalf of these kittens. Your assignment will come at another time and with a different calling.

OH NO, Fish! What sad news. Was hoping to log in tonight to hear a happier update. Ldybug is right. This was not your time to be the hero. You are definitely being held in reserve for something else, something different, and something with a far grander outcome.
Courage and Best Wishes to You, my Cat-Loving Friend.

Fish,
I am sorry. I'll lite a candle this evening for them. :(

The guy on my site I mentioned, John, this kind of thing happens a lot when he gets them. Don't blame yourself. Sadly, it is part of nature and the cycle of life. Consider yourself blessed that you were allowed to help them for a bit and fee them off. You made their short existence that much easier. And know that not a lot of people are willing to do that with stray kittens or cats hit on the road. You have earned your wings this week and when the cloud of sadness begins to lift you may realize this.

Thank you for being there trying to help. It does make a difference to to cats, kittens and people who care.

Sincerely,

David
