Any feed back out there would be of great value,looking at a 405 hp 2003 has 25000 miles on it. Are they reliable,or have the road noise of a 84, I've read and heard they are the closest thing to a real racer off the line production. Thanks Group Mike
Save some more money and buy a C6 Z06. The 2006 Z06 can be had for $45-50K. Trust me, they are waaaaay worth it!. With traction control off (if you are experienced enough a high performance driver) you can lay a patch for two blocks or until you get bored. If you want, your wife can drive it to the store as if it were a Civic. The best production car Chevy EVER made! Plus 26 mpg on the highway -that is un f'n' believable for what this car is! The ZR1 is not for the regular guy, too expensive. This is the end of an era, buy the C6 Z06 now. It will not exist in the near future, they will be increasing in value but trust me I lived through the first end of the muscle car in the early 1970s, it will appreciate quickly as you will not be able to buy a car like this in the near future. BUY IT NOW!
I have a 2003 Z06 with 405HP. They say the engine actually closer to 420HP. The 2003 Z06 is the 50th Anniversary car also. This year Z06 is the best bag for your buck. yes you can pickup a 2006 Z06, but there is a big jump in price. You can easily pickup a 2003 for 25K-30K. Remember all Z06 are standard shift. The C5 Z06 don't have removabletops, they are consider hardtops not coups. I purchased a form insert that divides the rear trunk area from the area behind the seats, this cuts down the noise. It's a quiet ride anyway. I get 29 mpg with the cruise control on 68mph. I love my vette. It;s a standard shift, wife can't drive it : )
