Can someone answer this...If a bible is printed in the years between 1861-1865 how likely is it that it was carried during the war. Wouldnt it be more likely that most "carried" Civil War Bibles were printed in the previous years to 1861, like personal or family bibles that a soldier would already own. (With the exception of a "presented" bible). All responses and opinions welcome, I will check back often. Thanks!
Pipi, common sense would be that such a Bible would be small in order for the trooper to pack in his kit. I would tend, toward the smaller size ones to be antique. Family Bibles were at home. Just a guess on my part. Regards Ms. Traci.
