Gotta distinguish between best concert EXPERIENCE and best concert MUSICALLY. For the former, the August Jam, 1974, at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Nearly 200,000 people, a tent city in front of the stage, rain and mud...sound familiar. A southern Woodstock? And the music was very good, even with the Eagles no-showing. ELP and the Allman Brothers Band capped it off. I bought a t-shirt for $4 and gave it to a girl 3 years later. I'd pay $100 for it now, even though it probably wouldn't fit.
Musically, the best rock concert I've attended was Crosby, Stills and Nash (no Young) at the Spartanburg (SC) Memorial Auditorium (capacity ~ 2500.) That building is a true concert hall (not a hockey rink or a football stadium) and the harmony and acoustics of CSN were magical on that late 1990's night. Didn't but a shirt that night, but I have saved a search on eBay looking for one...I need an XL.

Yo ! I was at that August Jam Back in 74 ! What a "wild time" ! 3 days !
But ? Never again ! What a fun time but what a massive mess !!! 50 or 60
thousand is the limit for me. Favorite Concert ? Hmmm. Well. Many Many
even from way back ! With so many different styles & bands ? It's hard to
put your finger on just one ! Loved just about all of them except for a few.
I've been to many concerts in my time. The last one I went to was the
Qeensryche-Empire tour. Very tight & very professional ! But ? I could
go way way back with many bands ! But ! don't wanna show my age too
much ! How about Mountain ? Steppenwolf ? Bloodrock ? Ted Nuggent
& The Amboy Dukes ! Too many & Most where excellent !
Yo ! Hello there Bluesman ! Hello to you all !
Russ:)
Oh ! No More 3 days for me dude !

This is hard. I've been a lucky guy. Some of my top picks are, Woodstock, The Concert For Bangladesh, a Grateful Dead dance concert that was super excellent, Pink Floyd's Dark Side of The Moon tour at Radio City Music Hall, The Allman Brothers at the Fillmore East. At the Rainbow in Los Angeles, I saw a special benefit show with John Mayall, Mick Fleetwood, John and Christine McVie, and Mick Taylor. It was really fine.

This is a tough one! I feel so lucky to have been living during a time when so much dynamic, awesome music was around!

Beatles - Cow Palace, San Francisco
Led Zeppelin - with Jethro Tull in Sta. Barb., CA - We were amazed by J. Page playing guitar with the violin bow.
Three Dog Night
Cream

Now I live close to an outdoor amphitheater so I hear concerts, but don't see some of them. Def Leppard was awesome; so were The Eagles. The loudest I remember hearing was ZZTop. The Cure and Radiohead were great, too. And Gwen Stefani puts on a good show. What a voice.

It DOES say "best", not all, lol!
hmmm well the memory fades... but in my memory, there was the most awesome Grateful Dead concert in Denver, probably in about 1972. What I remember was that it started raining at the break, and people started leaving. We were able to move up closer; the Dead came out and started playing again and they brought out the sunshine! It was amazing, lol! I was wearing a long fake fur cape and looked like a drowned rat. Jerry kicked out a large brown grocery sack into the audience full of little plastic baggies.
Any Dead concert - and there were thousands - was worth any effort to get there because of awesome it was that people treated each other with such love and respect; it is so sad that the era had to end.

Who ever said all ? That was just some ! This post won't allow me room to list all. Those were my favorites ! I'll make enemies with this remark though, Worst show THE GRATEFUL DEAD about 1978, BORING, guess i'm not into 45 min improvised space jams, or maybe I wasn't doing the right drugs, LOL !
