I JUST STARTED MY MIDWIFE SCHOOL!!! Yes..Im going to become a midwife-It seems as if I have been putting this off for like 3 years now! Well, I actually did have pre med (psychology focus)but I was going through a divorce at the time :( and went into the police academy(which was about the best time i have ever had!! BTW)but after his, mine & ours..I decided it was not worth the risk of my life.I have been keeping busy but something always feels incomplete within me. So, yes..I took the plunge and im scared and excited-it will be the absolute hardest thing I have ever done. Maybe I will call myself "ZEN BABY" when im done-ha ha..

Marlana, congratulations on your decision in becoming a Midwife ~ I am sure this will be a rewarding experience. I too have medical experience, Back Office nurse and EKG Technician, have worked in ER, hospitals, and clinics. It seems we both like the same similar things. You Go GIrl!!

Hello marlana, that is very good news.. Anybody that has a dream coming true is the best thing you can do for yourself. You are a living proof, that it is never too late or too hard, to go at it.. congrats my dear,

MARLANA, IF YOUR CERT IS STATE ISSUED.... AND U HAVE'NT LET IT LAPSE...... THEN ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS RENEW IT.... IF IT HAS LAPSED THEN U HAVE TO TAKE REFRESHER AND RE-CERTIFY....... LIN'SE IS GOOD FOR PRIVATE DUTY BUT U'D BETTER INSURE U'R SELF FOR AT LEAST A COUPLE OF MILL..... AT LEAST........ REMEMBER YOU ARE PUTTING U'R SELF ON THE LINE DOING PRIVATE DUTY...... "CNA" LINC'SE IS GOOD TO DO "CNA" WORK OF ANY KINDA HOSP., NURSING HOME, PVT-DUTY WHAT EVER!!!!!!!!

My cert is still good(2 years)i got it August 2007. I can just renew? I thought the law required like 8 or 16 hrs in a skilled care facility per year? also, say I do my own patients (to pay for my midwifery school) doing my home care/CNA ur saying I will need insurance? what about being bonded? is that neccessary? I can't really afford the insurance..but when I do home care for a company they only pay like 8.50-10.50 per hour?? then the price of gas! they ran me ragged with that driving.i think i would actually lose money with gas so high? thanks for info thom-you rock :) marlana

NO INSURANCE IS LIABILITY MAL PRACTICE INSURANCE MINE IS $6/700.00 A YEAR....... GOING HRLY RATE FOR AGENCY IS $17.00/25.00 HR OR $800.00/1,200.00 A WEEK FOR 24/7/5 DUTY..... DO IT YOUR SELF AND THAT MONEY IS ALL YOURS...... SO IF OHIO SAYS U HAVE TO DO ONSITE DUTY SO MANY HRS A YEAR TO STAY HEALTH THEN VOLUNTEER U'R TIME FOR MEALS AND UNIFORM... THE AGENCY THAT IS SENDING YOU WILL MAKE DOUBLE WHAT EVERY HRLY. RATE U R MAKING SO START A "CNA" CERTIFIED CREW OF HOME HEATH GIVERS.... AND SIT ON YOUR BUTT AND MANAGE THEM..... PULL OFF THE CREAM OF THE CROP JOBS FOR YOUR SELF........ REMEMBER U MIGHT BE WORKING ON U'R RETIREMENT CHECKS AND ...........!!!!!1
