In May my sales were $246.13. My eBay fees for that period were $80.38, and my concordant PayPal fees were $11.12, for a fee total of 91.50!!!
That means I paid eBay about 33% of my revenue!!! That's more than 1/3 of what I sold!!! How can we sellers make any money with outrageous fees such as these???
I Have Gone To Coin Shows And Had To Pay 5-7 Hundred For A Little Square With A Table And Only made 12-14 hundred. 30-50% is The Sad Truth. They Provide The Shop And You Have To Pay The Rent. Kent
Those little booths are high in rental fees now compared to what they use to be ..even 7 years ago. Thats why I usually just go to those as a buyer not a seller these days. and Ebay does have high fees compared to 1 to 2 years ago.. but of course because of that more people are adjusting there starting fees to cover the fees for the listing. People were starting to stray off to other auction sites but end up back here ..for the fact of buyer and seller protection has gotten better. Ebay is more if a strategy of listings now.. You want to list valuable or what is in demand.. Of course who can go wrong with silver and gold. But overall it would be nice if Ebay would lower fees ..even if it was just a little bit. after listing fee ..final value fee.. and transaction payment fee.. you do end up with money out of the pocket more than you like
i usually start items off at .99 cents and only provide one photo. it has been a few years since i sold anything.... but i would make up a little on the shipping end and let the buyers adjust the sale price by it. screw fee-bay!
well I try and post up as many pics I can through another site and then its posted on Ebay free....I dont get charged fees for pics and can post up to 100 pics on one listing and they are all supersized.. but if you go through ebay they charge per pic plus extra if you want it supersized
I don't know what to do either. I DO believe everyone should e-mail or contact eBay to moan and complain. If enough people do it, they will listen. I've seen it happen before with other companies.
I will register a complaint with ebay regarding their fees tomorrow. I have spoken with them in the past and they always say "watch for our specials", etc. Whatever. I spend over 3K a month on ebay fees just to give everyone an idea of what my gripe is about. I'm on the "fee rebellion committee" and I will make my voice heard! Let's all be vocal.
