Yes the government in there infinate wisdom have decided once agian to follow the Canadains and turn our money into steel, "Cents and Nickels" first of course, the House bill is H.R. 5512.
What do you all think of the idea? It would reduce the cost of manufacturing of those coins! And with the rust factor it may well add value to older coins!
HI; And, I hope that the 2009 cents will be made of copper one last time,even if they cost us more to buy them from the mint as a commemorative, and also bear the vdb on the back as the 1909 coin, woulden't it be great if they could put the wheat ears back on the coin also? Just for one last time and have vdb smack in the middle of the wheat ears.What a coin that would be! Time marches on.
I didn't think that the bill passed. Has it been passed through? Even then, I think it would need approval by the Senate, right? I don't like the idea, at all, however. They should limit the amount of mintage, not change the content. We don't need billions of all denominations every year. That's typical government for you. They do EVERYTHING a$$ backwards.
Hey Car !! Some going up Thursday and Sunday nights.I picked up some nice "raw" coins last week at a coin show and will list a few each week until their gone, nothing special but they are in nice condition. It takes me forever to get pics and type the descriptions..... Waiting on those fractional Buffalos....gonna max out 3 credit cards on those babies !!! Good to hear from ya ;]
