Did you know that 30% of all comic books are damaged during transit? Due to sellers not packaging books correctly. Here are some tips for sellers to use when shipping comic books:
Always use 2 pieces of hard cardboard on both top and bottom of books to be shipped. The cardboard should be larger than the books by at least 1/2".
This will help protect the corners. Use a peice of paper when taping the cardboard together, this will help to avoid tape sticking to the comic book. Stamp the package do not bend. Also the buyer can help the cause by getting a larger mail box and talking with their carrier.

That is pretty good advice. Words to live by. But are you just referring to comics that are exposed or are you also including comic that are bagged and boarded. I use on solid piece of cardboard usually or ship them boxed if order is big enough.

Thanks for the post brothers2009315 (362)

Yes, Unfortunatly even the comics that are bagged an boarded (with no further protection) end up with damaged corners. I might add comics should always be bagged and boarded Failed to mention this in the original post. Bagged and boarded then sandwiched between cardboard is the best way to go. If a larger # of books are being shipped its always safer to use a box. Books in the box should be packed with the above method, in packs of about ten. This will ensure your corners stay clean. Additionally when using media mail remember your package is sure to be thrown around like a football several times before it reaches the destination. This applies for all usps services,(but more so with media mail). Thanks for posting and good day!!

That is good to know. Makes alot of sense. I particularly like you analogy of the football with Media Mail. That is probably putting it lightly though.

I use a ridged plastic sleeve that is a little larger than the comic. I got lucky and found a place that wanted to get rid of them. unlike cardboard they can not be creased. it does raise my shipping cost. but since most on ebay overcharge anyway, I am lower than most any way.

Vader you are right about most ppl charging too much on shipping. I tried to go by other seller when charging but noticed most items went unsold. As soon as I lowered it to a more competitive rate my sales went up considerably .
