read everything twice.Ask a lot of questions,If they more intrested in your money there a red flag.never be lead off Ebay site to discuss or do business. There a few slick one working ebay I know they already got me for a bundle.
Be a lurker for a while first. Place pretend bids and see how good your feel is before you risk real money. Know your item...this is real important as there are shysters and scammers as well as just plain folks being tricky within the rules. Your first 'real' auction should be something you want but can get with not too much cash outlay and therefore it won't hurt too bad if you mess it up. Everybody learns as they go and most people are willing to share their thoughts if you ask nicely...
I would say always remember your Research and Development (R&D).
Research by taking time to learn more about eBay features, rules and benefits. You can truly leverage yourself and your store by learning the ropes from other experts online. Why reinvent the wheel. Do what works. Check out some of their awesome guides too.
Also develop your ideas, your marketing strategy and your unique online presence. Personalization is important. There has to be a reason why someone would buy from YOU. Especially when there are 10 (or more) other listings that are promoting the same thing. Stand out! Take risks (small ones at first) and make things happen! The more you develop, the better you will become at selling YOUR items and YOURSELF. And Remember: PROMOTE, PROMOTE, PROMOTE Your Listings!
