June 11, 2009 -- "Star Trek" makes faster-than-light travel look easy, but according to new calculations by Italian physicists, a warp drive could easily create a black hole that would incinerate any passengers on a space craft and then suck Earth into a black hole.
"Warp drives are so far the best case scenario to attain faster-than-light travel," said Stefano Finazzi of Italy's International School for Advanced Studies. This paper "makes it much harder to realize, if not almost impossible, warp drives." more-- http://dsc.discovery.com/news/2009/06/11/warp-drive-engine.html
That statement about warp drive causing a black hole is ridiculous because thats all opinion theyre saying they dont know until they try it sorta of like back when they thought the world was flat just speculation bending space through electricity is not all science fiction although the star trek version is because its not possible to go faster than light in anything we could create the force would shatter anything if not kill you horribly first but sending something thru electricity is possible and would feel instantanious so it wouldnt hurt sort of like the ship would shoot a electric bolt to its target location then get absorbed into the electricity then the part of molecular restabilization would be a doozy on receiving end I know if i did it it would come out goo but im not molecular scientist just a Physicist
