Does anyone really wear an apron while cooking?

I just love all the retro and fun aprons available in the stores now and I have even made one for myself and sold a few I've made, but, truth be told, most times when I'm cooking, I forget to put my apron on! I usually revert back to my old habits of wiping my hands on a dishtowel and letting the cooking splatters fall where they may.

I was wondering if any of you are putting an apron on each time you step up to the oven or stove, or are you like me and forget you have an apron (or just too lazy to put it on)?

Just wondering!

I always forget unless I am cooking something that splatters - like bacon or homemeade chip or homefires. Otherwise it just stays in my kitchen drawer. Poor neglected aprons:(

I wear mine when I'm cooking outdoors. BBQ can be messy at times.

I love to cook! However, no one can make a mess like me!! I love vintage aprons and have one on almost every time I start cooking. Although, I just pulled an apple pie out of the oven and forgot to put on an apron before I started!!! Hmmmm, now I know why I smell like nutmeg!

I only wear an apron when I am baking at home, however I work in a hospital kitchen and the first thing I do when I get to work is put one on. I have two small window in my kitchen at home, and I have used two vintage aprons as curtains. I change them often to reflect the different seasons and hollidays. Going to flea markets and yard sales is an inexpensive way to add to my collection. My laundry room is just off of my kitchen and on the window I have strung up a clothes line and use small childrens clothing with wooden pins as a curtain. My family and friends love what I do on my windows and I think they come by just to see what I have on them!
