Hi! My name is Jessica, and I make handmade cards and crafts. About a month ago I tried putting up some cards for sell on ebay, but I only got one sell out of several of cards and I didn't make any profit because it was for $0.99. After that I made some changes to my cards, mostly adding things I saw were popular in other cards that were getting lots of bids, and raising the starting price as someone else recommended, now I have put 3 new cards up for sale.
What I am worried about is that no one will bid on my cards because I have a low feedback number because I am new. Does anyone think this is true or have any tips or advice for something just starting to sell on ebay?
Your cards are very nice!! They are so original and a treat to see. Don't be discouraged, it takes time to get going. Your feedback could be an issue for buyers, you might want to beef it up by buying some things you need like dishtowels, pet supplies, gardening supplies, clothes, etc. You are brand new here so don't hesitate to let your friends and family know you have items listed. Your feedback will come up! I find that over 50% of my sales go to regular customers and it just takes time to build that up. Just like a brick and mortar business, it takes an initial investment of $$ to get started. The best advice I ever received was "don't be afraid of the competion, become the competition!" Don't give up on your lovely work!
use auctiva.com visit one of my auctions to get the link. its free and its way cheaper than ebay. tons of people use them.
alot of ppl bid on new sellers stuff. we all were new sellers at one time. and some ppl have to recreate accounts im sure if they got alot of negative feedback. i am not one of those ppl i asure you. good luck also i would work on other sites like myspace or cafemom to create sites to support your cards. anything to get the word out there to your friends and fam.
thank you both very much for your replies! i have started purchasing lots of things on ebay within the last few days, so hopefully that will help with my feedback rating. also, i keep hearing everyone say "hang in there" so I will :) Thanks!
The best way to raise your feed back and to help you sell is to buy. Buy a few inexpensive items, get the positive feedback from the sellers and that will show people your trustworthy based on the feedback you receive. That's what a lot of us have done when we first started out.
