I have never sold so many of my crocheted items as I have in the last two months...Last year I had alot of the same type items listed and barely sold a thing..I've tried this year to make alot of smaller items and keep the cost down..actually I'm having trouble making some items fast enough..Sure is fun for a change....Is anyone else experiencing this??? I hope so...I believe people out there are learning handcrafted is just better quality for a reasonable price...Any comments???
I've sold a variety of crochet pieces over the last few months...I think its coupled with the falling economy and people wanting to get items that are handmade at lower prices than store-bought goods...then there are those people who actually appreciate handmade, BUT nobody ever wants to buy it for what its worth...if you are selling custom items you are very lucky and I hope that you get more orders...
Hello close*2*my*heart , I appreciate your comments as I believe you may be right in many ways..I keep trying new items to see what may appeal to others and every once in awhile I connect..This year it was slippers..I just picked a style that would not take long to make and used double yarn and this year I was lucky..Of course as soon as the middle of November hit those types of things just died..Sept and Oct were the best months before christmas...This year I'm heavy into crochet patterns and doing well so far..You just hang in there and you will click in this area..I checked out your items and liked the spa set and what you had to say about it..very nice....Drop me a line anytime...Peas in the same pod..Joyce
Research shows that when the economy is down, home crafting or home crafted items become much more popular. We should make the best of this while the demand is high -- there are a few benefits to a poor economy!
Am so glad to hear things are selling. I love crochet and have made so many things (mostly small) that my family says I have to sell or give away some or move. Would like to sell some to support my Habit. Hand made is best. Mine are made with Love of the craft. Any suggestions for getting rid of some precious toys, dishcloths, hats, ects. No afghans. Takes too long, I lose interest. Suggestions for small items. thanks rose
Hi cssgagirl, You are like me when it comes to making small items..I love crocheting the small items..I like slippers, Doll clothes, Child and adult purses, some toys..kitchen items, dollies and anything that catches my interest..I have an endless supply of yarn and thread due to a number of years of buying anytime a good sale came along..No matter what level of experience anyone may be there is plenty of things to make and now with all the free patterns offered on the internet it a crochet wonderland.....
