Hi! I've been crocheting since I was 5, off and on...Just wondering What is everyone working on?
I'm trying to finish up a blanket for my neices...I figured I'd get to play with pink (I have 3 boys), and this sweet little blanket has turned into a monster! Way bigger than I had orginally intended. lol Almost done tho
I also make hats, and I've been working on baby toys (rattles and little things)
How bout you?

Good morning blondenak,
You sound like me with liking a variety of things to crochet..I don't have any little ones left in the family but I do like making Toys..Right now I'm trying to make up some little egg critters...Little animals crocheted over plastic eggs..not sure yet what I will do with them but they sure are fun..I sell alot of Annie's Attic patterns and the big sellers are toys..so I guess we are not the only ones..Take care and keep on stichin...Joyce

itchin, the egg critters sound cute! I have a few patterns to make rattles with plastic eggs, or plastic cat toys (balls with bells in em). I like the small projects better. Seeing the item come to life faster than a blanket or large project!

Hi there, havent been around for awhile but, to answer your question, Im finishing up a coat for my little 3 pound Choodle, chi/poodle mix. He gets cold in the winter so I decided why not! My little 2 lb chi girl already has 1 that i crocheted.

The toys sound like they could be fun.

I know what you mean about a blanket being bigger then you thout it was going to be.

Happy crocheting!!

Wow, a table cloth. I've made a rug out of some plastic canvas yarn left ovrer from some school project years ago. It turned out pretty good. Good luck with the tablecloth!

I taught myself to crochet back in 1984, because I couldn't find anyone who wanted to teach me, a left handed crocheter. I bought a book and taught myself, and I've been crocheting ever since.

Lately, I've been busy crocheting hats for my friend's Red Hat Society Group. I have one up for sale on Ebay now.

I'm also crocheting dish clothes and Swiffer covers. Both are becoming very popular with my friends.

I crocheted some hats for the homeless in downtown Portland, Oregon too, and I hope to do many more. It's a horrible thing to be homeless in America, and so many are mentally ill or disabled.

Just joined this neighborhood as I am returning to crochet from a long absence. Originally learned in Brownies and Girl Scouts and also from Mom but never kept up with any crafting for the past ten years or so...I'm in my early 40's now.

Found my way back to crochet when I joined a newly forming Prayer Shawl ministry at my church..which I'm also fairly new to.

Currently, I am crocheting a small throw for an elder man in the neighborhood. Have never used Lion Brand Homespun before and chose a varigated shade..so it's been a challenge, but a great one!

Looking forward to posting and replying here often!

Mary Pauline you sound like my long lost twin! rofl

I too learned many years ago from my Mom and over the holidays I saw an afghan my MIL was working on. After that I haven't been able to stop crocheting! lol Its really like riding a bike you never really forget how to do it. But my challenge has been reading patterns.

There is a WONDERFUL woman on Youtube that has hundreds of videos, she shows you step by step how to make different patterns for right and left handed crocheters.

I am currently working on a granny square afghan for my teenage daughter. She and I picked out all sorts of beautiful colors for it. After that I have the yarn waiting to make my Granddaughter a "blankie" (her words). :)

P.S. that homespun yarn is wonderful! I made a scarf for my daughter using that, its so soft!

There isn't a day that goes by where I'm not crocheting. I am crocheting a music note scarf using green, white, and black (the colors of her band) for a friend. I just finished up some adorable little Nubian goat potholders.

I have to admit..I struggled with homespun for awhile as I hadn't picked up any craft in quite some time..but I am enjoying working with it now and would probably use it again.

I've never tried granny squares but a co-worker is practically begging me to do so. She made a beautiful afghan in pastel mint green and pink and white for a friend of hers. I'm lefty as is she and my Mom who also crochets, so it's a good network. Sometimes I try to pick up something from a book and get all backwards being a lefty.

Thanks for the referral to youtube! I'm going to check that out first chance I get! What would we do without the internet!

Looking forward to more discussions here!

Hi!! I just joined this neighborhood. I have been crocheting for at least 10 yrs+ now. I started out doing mostly afghans and now have advanced. I am currently working on the most adorable pattern I found in a magazine for " Betsy and Billy" they are like Raggendy Ann and Andy dolls. I started them for myself and now have to make at least 3 more sets for my granddaughters. I love them.

Hi. I make baby hats. I have donated some of them to charities. I also make scarves and fingerless mittens. It's so fun. I have been crocheting for over 35 years!! My Grandma taught me long ago!! I started out with mastering the 'chain'.

Wow! What a good mix we've got going on! I've finished the "Monster" blanket and mailed it off to my neices, along with a dolly blanket. I've been having a great time making toys. Turtle baby rattles, teddy bears, a cat.

It's been nicer weather here and I really wanted to start working in the garden, but since I know this weather won't last right now...So instead I made carrot shaped cat toys filled with catnip. lol I also managed to squeeze in two scarves. :)
