Hello! If t says DELL, I probably own it. This questionis concerning my newest addition, Inspiron 1525. When at home, I would like to have a more "desktop," feel accessories. I was thiking I needed to buy the following: Keyboard, Full size mouse, port replicator or docking station, laptop stand, and maybe a LCD monitor.

Would you be able to advise me on what I "really" need and which of those can be from DELL.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi, I have a lattitude c610. when I push britness to max in bios screen blacks out instantly. If I back off a couple clicks picture is fine for a while, but then blanks out. You can still faintly see picture very faintly. Is first guess invertor? Or could it be bad backlight our lcd itself? This is my first experince with laptops.
Thanks, Jim

Hi, new to this forum but a longtime Dell owner.

I want to know why my Dell Inspiron 1420 laptop blinks a couple times when Vista boots to the desktop. This appears to be a common problem and I've seen it mentioned many places. It has something to do with VIsta and changing resolution (at least that's why people claim). I have an XPS desktop with VIsta premium and it doesn't do this, just the laptop.

I am running Vista Premium on the 1420 laptop. The computer has 2 GB ram and a 1.4 mhz Pentium Dual Core processor. Integrated video card.

It's not a huge deal but its really annoying. None of the suggestions given by others on the net seem to work.

If you have any suggestions it would be appreciated and thanks for offering to help all us loyal Dell owners out there!

if it is like any windows screen saver and I believe it is all you need to do is goto pick your screen saver. what is running should be listed and you should see it playing in a small screen. you will see settings; click it and you can edit the text.

Hi, I have a older Dell Dimmension 2350. My question is: How do I back up my hard drive? I purchased a 500 GB external hard drive, but I am not sure how to use it to back up my system. I have 762 mb of RAM, and the original hard drive, (40GB, or what is left.). I think that my external hard drive is made by WESTREN DIGITAL it is called ELEMENTS. THANK YOU- J.C.

I have a Dell Inspiron 9300 which is a little over a year old. Not only does the battery light stay flashing orange (will not operate without AC power), but at least 60 .dll file errors pop up every time I start Windows. I've purchased an external hard drive because I figured that I might have some type of virus. Also, System Restore will not work at all. I'm contemplating erasing my whole laptop hard drive. Will this help?

Hi. Three months again, I disconnected & packed away my Dell Dimension desktop 3000(XP, SP3). Having returned & reconnected the tower, monitor, printer, mouse & keyboard, everything working fine EXCEPT for the HK595 speakser (3) and subwoofer. The subwoofer is connected to an outlet. The (facing) right speaker is connected (orange pin connection) to the subwoofer & the brownish tinged plug in is going to the purple plug in spot on the back of the tower (next to two other plug in spots, empty, colored green and blue). The (facing left) speaker is connected to the subwoofer using a green plug in at each end. So, there is no direct connection between the subwoofer & tower. But the right speaker connects to both the subwoofer & tower. And the left speaker connects only to the subwoofer. The speaker (right) powers on (when it is plugged into the woofer, which is powered by an outlet). In my 3000 system XP, everything appears to be normal (no muted audio). In the control panel, audio and sounds, the sound scheme is set at windows default; USB audio codec is the sound playback setting ,and sound recording setting, as well as voice playback setting. When the computer is turn on and off, there are no sounds, nor the usual stuff when email arrives, etc. Any advice, as I am of the opinion that the speakers died & need to be replaced. Or I just did not reconnect the speakers, subwoofer & tower properly. The 3000 was purchased in 11/21/04 & just went out of waranty a week ago (after an extended warranty) & curiously my invoice shows that the 3000 came with Dell A215 speakers. Possibly I too those speaker to another of my desktops in another location, a couple of thousand miles away & I brought the HK speakers subwoofer here thinking it was a better system. Anyway, the HK speaks worked fine for several years at this location & worked fine when the system was "mothballed" temporarily three months ago. Any thoughts, advice, direction, guidance? Sorry for the long-winded explanation. Thanks, Bob

Hi, I have a Dell Inspiron 1705 E and it will not turn on or take a charge, it was dropped when the power cord was plugged in and it landed right on the connector and jarred things around inside. We took it too a local guy who replaced a little piece where the power cord connects, but still no power, he said we might as well buy a new mother board, because the problem could cost a lot of money in labor just to locate the problem, where as if we buy the mother board and have it installed we can avoid the fees for just finding the problem. I was hoping you could give me some advise please.

Thanks,

Hello Dell Worker

I'm in the process of building an XPS 720 from chicken scratch and would like to know what would be the best processor for this machine. I've heard that this can be a troublesome motherboard but have read mixed reviews. If it were yours what would put in it? Help this rookie builder please. Thanks
