Hello, I have a Dell Inspirion that my Uncle gave me for my son to use at school. It works great but will not allow him to play games. The audio is there but no Video. His major is Games design/Graphic design. Can you tell me what I need to do? Is this fixable?

Hi Superpremonacho, gees I think next time I will just use Sup!

First, I would like to praise you for offering your time and knowledge to help folks with their questions. Since I just found you, I sure hope you are still around.

I have a Dell Inspiron 6000, Love that little baby; but, I am afraid she is on her last leg. My most recent problem is with the ac cord and I have purchased new ones thinking it really was the cord. When I plug the ac cord into the laptop it just does not make a connection. When this problem first started, I would simply hold the cord tight and push it in the laptop as hard as I could. Soon after I started to have to push the cord in as hard as I could, I started to have to HOLD IT THERE. :( That makes it difficult to type.

Yes, I did just use the battery I had; BUT, once the battery was drained I couldn't sit there and hold the ac cord into the laptop until it charged fully. It has gotten so bad that I bought a new inspiron 1525...

I would like to fix the inspiron 6000 and am on the verge of just opening it up to see if I can find something near where I plug my ac cord into that may need tightened. I am afraid to open it and start messing around with the guts of this thing which is why I am here. BEFORE I do open my laptop, I thought it might be wise of me to ask for your opinion. Have you ever heard of this problem? For that matter, has ANYONE here experienced this? If so, and, you can offer up suggestions, please email me at kimbobear1@yahoo.com Heck, if you just want to write to me to complain about it, misery does enjoy company so feel free. :)

Mr. Sup, PLEASE help me. I am not ready to retire my 6000 even though I have a brand new puter. On the other hand, I do not want to pay Best Buys Geek Squad $50 just to tell me it can't be fixed. (no disrespect intended)

Oh PLEASE be for real...I need help with this. In advance, thank you for any help you can give me. Sorry for the length of this. Good night

Kimberly

Hello:
I am trying to fix a friends Dell computer Inspiron 531. He was online doing who knows what and the system locked up,so he shut if off with the switch and when the unit was rebooted all that shows up is a mouse pointer. No image. I tried to do a restore with the disc but with no luck. You hear it all moving and doing its thing but still no image on the screen! Also when it boots up you see the Windows XP logo and then nothing but mouse pointer, even in a safe mode??? Any thoughts??
thanks
Scott
