I inherited a nice 5150 Inspiron and need to know if it comes wired for wireless card? I am going to have to buy a card no doubt etc but have no clue where to start or whether they came ready to accept wireless card?

the 5150 should have a wireless card in it already. Its located on the bottom beneath a small cover.

YES it is prewired.

Another way is to look under the ram door. If there is a black wire running between the two banks, it is the antenna wire. Which internally are runs to the C door, they should be covered with plastic tips. The antenna is located between the CD insertion slot and the PC card slot.

The Broadcom 94306 works better than the intel version, then you will need the drivers from the Dell site.
