I've heard some people say so. I think he has potential. I'm hoping he gets more comfortable and takes complete charge in his role. Although no one will ever be as good as John Elway :)
Cutler, after two years has more yrds., tds., and a higher passer ratting than Elway did. Jay has the franchise behind him that John helped build. Cutler may end up with better stats, more super bowl victories, but what ever he may achieve, Elway will be partly to be thanked. Yes, Cutler is the next special QB, to play on Elway's team, if he is willing to put in the work.
Cuttlerhas the potential to be the next great QB and as good or better(going 2 have a hard time doing that tho) But it's going to take time for him to grow. I also thinnk that if they would have kept Plummer he could have speed up the growth of cuttler. I love the Broncos but they did Plummer wrong by me
I definately don't think that we've seen the best of Cutler. All great QB's have had their issues when they first started out. There will always be only one Elway, but I'm not doubting Cutler's abilities in the slightest!
Let me start by saying that i am a huge bronco fan and i know that Elway is one of the greatest QBs of all time. However, he would have ended up in the same category as Dan Marino had it not beed for Terrell Davis. He would have left the game with great numbers and whole lot of come from behind victiries and WITHOUT A RING! Because he had a great running back in TD, he left with two rings. If you dont believe it, watch the 2 tapes of those super bowls. Having said that, Cutler is going to be a great QB in his own way. He is putting up tremendous numbers with a scrub offesive line that returned one starter from last year, just one awesome receiver in Marshall, two mediocre tight ends, and a bunch of running backs that cant stay healthy for more than two games at a time. Its too early in his career and we should wait and see how his career pans out. People should stop comparing the two, although that will never happen.
Cutler has some big shoes to fill when it comes to being compared to Elway. I hope he is our next Super Bowl quarterback. I would like to see him do more of 2 things this year. Run for some first downs when his play is not there, and bootleg to a side and let it fly!
Well Howdy Bronco Fans, We're a little "All over the place on this one" aren't we? I was born the day the Broncos were born, a dustyMile High day, back in '59, sure our first season wasn't till '60, beating the Patriots in Boston for the AFL' s Inaugeral game. Elway was the Greatest QB to ever play the game, for anybody, anytime. Having had the pleasure to meet him, moments after we beat Reeves falcons (97 regular season/Atlanta), We shook hands, I thanked him, and we went on to dominate the league for the next two years. Crowning with his MVP XXXIII performance. With that being said, "Yes" , Jay Cutler is our next "John Elway". Bronc-On!!!
