I'm just curious about something. Are there certain things that are too low priced to worry about, or like in this situation, so close to ending that you know it's not going to be pulled so you just don't report?
In the event ..say this buyer gets this purse and knows it's fake...I don't suppose eBay would keep any records of it being reported, would they?
Naturally there are records on their computer. If they choose to keep a data base for cross-reference, it would and could be easily accomplished! They have collected and stored everything and waiting for a valid reason to access the information! My guess is that if the right person asks the right question.............
Somehow, though it's not that simple. If you receive a fake and the seller states it's authentic, it's up to YOU to get verification from Coach or other knowledgeable source to write a letter to eBay. No way would I go traipsing into Coach with a bag I bought on eBay asking them to verify. And besides that I don't think they will give written verification. (I think I read that on their website)
But it would be nice if eBay were to keep records of counterfeit reports to help their rulings.
That's why you were lucky, Susan, that your seller refunded so easily.
You are so right, I was fortunate, and I know that too many people are spending their hard-earned money on junk. Those poorly constructed bags are probably coming apart before the end of one season. You can't even kill a Coach or Dooney & Bourke, they have nine lives! I would not even go out my back door with some of these bags, much less be seen in any store! Coach store...........no way! This group will have a definite impact on the market. It will benefit everyone, buyers will know thier is well-spent and eBay will benefit from the good reputation.
