I think that the Tigers have given Brandon a raw deal unless the upper management is planning on keeping him at third and use the "new" third baseman they picked up to use as a trading card for something else they are trying to get, like another power reliever or another short reliever in case Jones goes on a long streak of loosing again.
Brandon has stuck with the Tigers in thick and thin, and deserves more than the management is giving him.
Inge is looking OK at 3rd recently. I was at one game when the crowd was chanting "Inge @ 3rd", and by the end of that game, out he came, and Cabrera went over to 1st that night. I think Inge is a good catcher too. We need some more batting to start happening! Need some new comments here....Is Todd Jones done? Is Sheffield done? hmmmm...
Well, for right now it's mixed at this point. Willis has been a major disappointment (Single A), while Cabrera has really started to take his offensive productivity to another level. He has played quite well at his new position too, first base. As for the other two major prospects, Miller is 5-9 with a 5+ ERA and is considering season-ending knee surgery. Maybin is at the Marlins' Double A affiliate, and has started to come on a bit after a slow start. The guy I miss most at this point is Jair Jurrjens, who was traded away for Renteria. Our newly acquired shortstop has been a bust while Jurrjens has been one of the better pitchers in the NL. Currently, he is 9-5 with a 3.22 ERA. The Tigers could really use a 5th man in their rotation right now (4th and 5th, actually).
