I am searching for a camera that takes killer close-ups. I am a makeup artist and need a camera that will capture the eyeshadow colors. Also if it records for about 8-10 minutes its a plus!! I really need some advice on which camera to purchase that fits this description. Help and advice is greatly appreciated. xoxo

Also, The pic taken on my profile pic was with a cheap camera. It was a samsung S630. I hate it!!! It has 6.0 megapixels, and a 3x zoom. As you can see its blurry and has poor closeup quality.

Get a tripod for your current camera or buy a camera with a image stabilization feature. Also make sure you have a good off camera flash system. For accurate skin tones lighting is critical. What is your price range? What do you plan to do with the images you create. Are you going to use them for the web, make prints? If you make prints what is the max image size you want? If you want great results you need more than point & shoot knowledge. Digital does shorten the learning curve to good photos but there is no shortcut for experience.

Did you try using the Macro setting on the camera? Most Point and Shoots have no problem with close ups with flash.
