Brrr! Can you feel the chill in the air? The ghosts and goblins of October have fled, loaded down with sweets... and the days of Thanksgiving are close by... Come sit by the fires and share the warmth of canine fellowship... the joys & sorrows of life with Man's Best Friends.
Cold in the NorthWest , but dry. This is our wettest month, so this is rare for us. What is to come. Putting on the snow tires tomorrow, the dryer won't work We are putting new counters in the kitchen . And so it goes,Patty
Good Morning from Tennessee, we have chilly 50's today and will get to 65, the leaves are giving a beautiful show on the hills, early morning, the fog or as we call it smoke on the mountains, looks like steam coming up, Blue my Great Dane, runs and plays so much more during this weather, I have to brace myself, I never know if he is going to mis judge & slide right into me, he runs and dodges me at the last second:) Snow we hardly ever see snow, maybe a little twice in the season, sometimes ice ~ Have a wonderful first Monday of Nov.
Good afternoon to all. It's a beautiful day here in California, sunshine and the temps in the mid 70's. No rain expected until the first part of next week.
Donna, we've missed you. Are you back from your vacation yet? Check in and say hello. Looking forward to hearing about CoCo & Lilly Belle's adventures on their first vacation with you. How did CoCo manage the stairs? Edie
Well... that's weird...I let a reply last night and it is nowhere to be seen... oh rats! Here's the gist of it all... gorgeous weather here in Cajun Country... in the 40's or 50's at night... up to the mid-70's in the daytime. The dogs are lovin' it! We are lovin' it! A whole week without rain, finally!
Halloween... we bought enough candy, I thought... but we had over 300!!! kids show up on our porch for goodies in a 3 hr period of time! It was totally fun to see all of the big and little ones in some very original costumes, as well as the usual ghouls/goblins/superheroes etc. We had to "borrow" some candy from our neighbor across the street, so we wouldn't have to shut out the light after 2 hrs :-) Next year I will definitely buy more candy!
Missing Donna on her long vacation... nice to see Sheila out here again... and Patty... and Edie... and wondering how they celebrate Halloween in Aussieland, Jenny.
Off to grab a bite and back to hit the sorting of "stuff" for the 'Bay and website,
Good morning from the NW . Still dry at least untill tomorrow. Jenny, Archie is gone. There has been a Great Horned Owl here the past week or so , and I am pretty sure he is the one that got Archie. Archie was a big heavy cat and it would have had to be a big animal to get him. These owls are 2 1/2 - 3 feet tall, and could have done the deed with ease. I am sure he is back looking for more fare. I will miss that cat, even at 11 years he was still a kitten. Shielae I know what you mean about the big ones and thier games. Hook and Stella will get within inches of me and turn on a dime to miss me. It dosn't always work. But the worst one is clipping me in the back of the knees . I have to watch that one , they can really hurt a person. Well off to get so mom work done and then back home to the beach. Have a good one all, Patty
Hi Guys - I am back. I had a wonderful trip. Lily Belle will agree. Coco Puff won't I am sure. She hates stairs - but in time with my wonderful daughter-in law's help she over came them. She was just to big to carry upstairs. We had to literally put one paw on each step and teach her how to do it. She was not a happy camper. It took her about the better part of a week to get the hang of it. Once she decided she was going to do it by herself - that was it. She would stay at the bottom and wait for everyone else to get out of her way and she would run up them in a flash. I coudn't believe it. She ran down them the same way. I was a nervous wreck. I was afraid she would go tumbling down them, but she didn't. I have never seen a dog run so fast up and down stairs. The time Lily Belle fell down them doesn't count in my book. My grandson shared his cold with me. Kids bounce back. I on the other hand have a cold and chest cold. Coco Puff I believe has learned to trust me more I believe. I was wondering if she just didn't like cars - but now I truly believe she didn't want to leave here. I have a lot of reading to do to see what everyone has been up to. I have a million stories to tell you about my two legged and four legged babies - Later Donna
Hi Donna, so glad you are back, safe and sound. Sounds like you had a wonderful time, with the exception of a cold. Great news to hear about Coco's stair experience. Now let the fun begin! I've missed you and can hardly wait to hear about all the adventures with Coco and Lilly Belle. Edie
Donna, what a mental picture I have of a huge ball of white fur charging up and down stairs LOL... so glad all went well on your trip... and so glad to have you back in the Pack :-) Can't wait to hear more about your two girls. We have missed the adventures of Lili & Coco. All is well in Canary Hollow, with the exception of a slight regress in Ms Maddy's athleticism. We upped her meds for a couple of days, and now she seems fine again. The poor little old lady tries to keep up with the boys, and just overdid it the other day, I guess. Glorious days of sun... chilly nights... and temps in the 70's during the day... but we have Tropical Storm Ida in the Gulf now and are praying that she doesn't gain too much strength, but just drifts eastward and out into the Altlantic without any landfall... so we are expecting winds and rain late Sunday and into Monday. We have been lucky this year with no Hurricane threats so far, so maybe Ida will just die off.
Good morning friends. It is cold here in Michigan this morning but supposed to go up to 60 on Sunday. My computer has been under the weather and in "hospital" for a few days. Our son paid us a surprise visit and decided that my cpu was just toooooooo sllooowwwww for him and I had withdrawal -- saying noooo as he was marching it out the door. It has been such a pleasure having him here -- he came specifically to be support for my hubby after his sister died last week. How did I get so lucky to have such wonderful kids? Anyway, congratulations for Coco Puff's latest accomplishment! My Papillon flies up and down stairs like the wind -- one day he did fall down and ripped out a toenail -- but I had to teach my Pom also -- I would help her down one or two steps and then carry her the rest of the way until one day she just went the whole way by herself.
Its my first post and not sure how this works but I'll give it a try. I am in the South East in the beautiful Sunshine State. We got a lot of sunshine down here. Temperatures are in the low 80s. Its still pretty hot out here considering that its November. I miss the cold and I can't wait to wear my winter clothes and dress Daisy up with her pink sweaters and girly jackets. Lots of cheer from us and a happy holiday season!
