I HAVE ONE BLACK LAB MIX. AND ONE AMERICAN PITBULL TERRIER..ALSO BLACK.BOTH DOGS CAME TO ME FROM MY DAUGHTER BY DEFAULT.THEY STAY INSIDE, AND HAVE ME WHERE THEY WANT ME.
Oh, my, yes - totally rotten. We always have a 2 dog night. Both of them are Heinz, one adult and one ever-growing puppy. I feel like I live to be their doorman! They are indoor dogs and we have a radio fence for their safety, when they go outside, as we live on a main road.
I have to agree with sheilae1257, it's not spoiled, just love...They become our "babies" and unlike children who eventually grow up, our pups stay dependent on us for comfort, love, affection and ATTENTION...We have a male 98 lb Boxer/Sheltie, DOB 12/23/05 and a male 112 lb Black Lab/St. Bernard, DOB 3/18/06 ((see my profile picture, taken Xmas 2007)), who are both indoor pups, and share the house with now 2 cats((a 9 yrs and a 2 years-both female))...They are always by my side and still act like toddlers, but it's just sooo cute, it's hard to resist giving them everything they want...
I am thinking that my Newfies are spoiled rotten....fans in mid winter when I have to bundle up just to be by them in the house with the fan on are two spoiled dogs,....Hubby's black lab is joined at the hip with him, and if hubby is out of site, he cries like a baby....then our old yellow lab Rusty.....he gets all the tidbits from a good dinner, he has a cast iron stomach....unlike our other furbabies....yes, it is love, they know who loves them......and we know we get it back unconditionally.
Val P.S. I don't have to set an alarm......my newf is my alarm....every morning at 4:15 I get a little muffled bark to let me know it is TIME!!!!!!
