1984 camero with overdrive

i have a 84 camero with 103 thousand miles on it.when it is in overdrive no matter what the speed you are going whether it be 55 or 75 it drops down into drive then back to overdrive.it will do this10 or more times in a mile.it doesnot slip in any gear it just drops back and forth from drive to overdrive.it has the small v6 in it.i have had this car for several years and have done most of the maintenance on it myself but cant find the problem.any suggestions would help thanks for your input.Doug

Hello,
Have you checked the vacuum hoses /wires/ they may be loose or off(?), also you might have a tyranny valve that might be bad(look before you buy parts).
This is a transmission problem,start with the cheapest stuff first & or the oldest parts(some times I put a new part on and forget to recheck every thing after I am done or a few days later checking the parts again).
