I need to ask any one("?"), can a 1968 Fire bird convertible V6 be swamped out to a V8(400-455) , I need to know if there is any issues or any thing to do to the frame before dropping in a power plant? The transplant would be parts from another Fire bird or the same breed (not a Mopar,Ford,Chevrolet,GMC -even though that would be one wicked ride !) . Thanks to any one who can help.
hello as far as i know , all you need is the correct stands for engine going in to bolt to frame . most gm had a variety of holes predrilled in engine crossmember . should stay with short trans so trans crossmember doesnt have to be moved back , thus making factory driveshaft useable. good luck !
Thanks atozmopar, I will keep that in mind, when you say stands your talking motor mounts (?),I thought I might need to reinforce the frame, box it in(?), or change frames(?), thanks for the info and your time and have a great day.
