I find that there is not enough character development in single books so I tend to lean towards series - such as Aasimov's' "foundation series" or the Lord of the rings - but there is a limit unless new characters, plots or themes are inserted I speak of Jordans "wheel of the world" series I guess there is such a thing as too much of a good thing. I have enjoyed the Belgariad series but did not care at all for there subsequent books. What do you think?

Finally! A neighborhood I can get into!

I find that most well known authors have series of books.

Here are some of my favorite fantasy authors who reside in my library:

Piers Anthony, Robert Silverberg, Walter Wangerin, Jr., Marion Zimmer Bradley, Jack Williamson, Ursula K. Le Guin, Robert E. Howard, L. Sprague de Camp, Terry Brooks, Robert Jordan, R.A. Salvatore, and on and on (Tolkien is a given).

I won't mix Sci Fi in here but to say one of my all time favorite series in it is Card's Ender series, hence my id.

Good reading!
