I just joined this community and this is why this post is late. I couldn't agree more with the Colorado Mountain Man. I make an effort to thank these men when I can. I recently met a war veteran at a Walmart. He had a handful of pins and buttons on a small card table. He was asking for donations for the local VFW lodge. I placed some cash in his jar and asked if I could shake his hand. I thanked him for all that he had done for me and this country. He wanted me to take one of his pins, but I didn't. I told him he's already given me more than I could ever repay. I noticed a tear in his eye and he smiled saying thats the first time anyone had ever told him that. So please take a moment when you see these men and women and tell them how much they are appreciated. It means so much!
