Hello everybody. Wanted to give some advice when shipping cast iron pans, trivets, bookends, matchsafes, banks, cast iron etc..Some people don't know this but cast iron items are fragile and can easily break and chip, especially when it's cold (like now) sitting in a warehouse or postal truck waiting to be delivered. The item should be wrapped first in either bubblewrap or in several sheets of paper first before pkg. (keeps it from shifting in the box better), and with enough pkg. peanuts/crumbled newspaper around it to keep it away from the sides (so if it gets bumped or dropped), and put into a large enough box. These items are pieces of our history and it would be a real shame to lose them! By the way...I have a very choice swag lamp up on auction for a few days more, not sure if it is from the Hollywood Regency period or the Eames Era. Anybody know? Thanks a bunch for your time and help!
