Hello, I sell new and used emblems on eBay and would like to know more about a certain Ford truck grille emblem that I have, which is a little different than the rest. Most logos (99%) have the word Ford written in chrome lettering set behind a thick laminate covering, but this certain emblem is opposite...the chrome Ford lettering is on top, exposed; so if you run your fingers across it you can feel each letter and touch the chrome. Which is kinda neat, but not really noticeable to the eye, meaning if it wasn't brought to your attention you probably wouldn't notice. Here's the really strange thing ... on the back it is marked Made in Italy. I have never came across any Ford part that has the OEM Ford stamp marked on back with an OEM part number that says Made in Italy. I have seen Genuine Ford parts that are marked Made in Canada (New Lincoln emblems for instance) or Made in USA on the outside packaging and even on the emblem itself. But never have I seen a made in Italy with a registered Ford trademark together on any automotive part and am wondering what this means. It is off of a Ford truck grille, and is the bigger size emblem used on newer model trucks and suv's, measuring approx 9"w x 3.5"h the part number is 4L34-15402A16-AC dated 1/06 PC+ABS 2 and also BDD0A. Is this some type of knock-off, after market, customized or limited edition design. Maybe just the plastic mounting plate assembly was made in Italy. I just think this is weird, And is either extra special or extra bogus. What do you think?
