Yes. A performance chip will help your truck by "re-writing" the ECU parameters. It basically tells the engine to perform better. ALL engines are capable of much more than they are given credit for.. Truck makers can't advertise it's "true power" because these engines are mass-produced for people of alll ages.
Look into Edge, Superchips and JET's. Those are great, reputable chip manufacturers. I personally have an Edge tuner in my truck and let me tell you that this tuner really woke my truck up!
You feel the difference even more with an exhaust and intake.. Better breathing creates more power!
for that year i would go with the jet chip, i've done them on a number of trucks and i tell you, the difference is very noticable, about 25-30hp. and adding a cold air intake and throttle body spacer will help out with the flow of the vehicle.
Might these chips be installed by a Ford dealership service department? I have a 2004 Crown Vic (4.6) and a 2002 Ford 154 w. a 5.4 Triton? Installing the chip...will you loose gas milage?
yes you will fell the horse power if you get out there and get on it before you change the chip then change the chip yes you will feel the change in horse power and speed and fuel milage is ok to
