i was hoping i could get some suggestions on colors that would be the best for the coat and cloths racks im making and selling! any out side suggestion would be great. it will help me decide what will sell!
I think that the warmth in the darker more natural colors like cherry and mahogany seems to be the bigger trend now, and of my favorite finishes that I apply to my peices. They allow the character of the natural wood show through while adding a little depth to the piece. However, that is an oppinion. Several of my family have more of an intrest in the lighter natural finishes of Tung and Linseed oils ( with or without a Urythane finish coat). I think it boils down to your market and much or little maintence the customer is willing to perform on the furniture (ie tung oil versus laquer) The best thing to do is search the Rooms to Go and Haverty's stores in your area and see what seems to be moving there. I use there marketing and research dollar to help me with my design. I just offer the customer something they can't personalized QUALITY handbuilt service. Hope this helps.
