I think that AMAZING hand applied detail that has become to be expected of oriental design with the soft yet structuraly functional curves and demensions will always be the strong point to the design. I think the more you take it back to the origins of the art the more defind the piece will be and the more desirable.
three words - color color color I love the rich red crimsons and bright green jades drawn out dramatically by the framing or setting of black laquer, hand carvings of statues or plaques and unigue table dressings are also amazing especially in brass or bronze - one of my favorite pieces I own is this asian rabbit chair the detail is just wonderful and it is so rich in earth tones with a crimson cushion - I also love large exaggerated pottery pieces and jugs that can be placed either on my closed patio or in a living room area

Well we have been in the business of selling antique Chinese furniture and accessories for over 3 years and it seems like the most popular pieces in our store are altar tables end tables and buffets. I think the best thing about Chinese furniture is that it blends in so well with many other styles and you don't need a whole room or a whole house of it to make it work.
Good morning, we are a large manufacturer of furniture and furniture components to the major USA furniture groups and have a plant in Northern China. Although we have always loved the detail of the Chinese style furniture, we have had to re-0design the furniture somewhat to allow the products to fit more to the USA and Canada markets. Contact us for any needs you might have and allow our design engineers to look at your project and help you save money.
