HI, I take tons of pictures of my fused glass. There really is not one right or wrong answer, but a whole lot of variables. It depends on what you are taking pictures of, the light in the room etc. My camera has an auction setting and takes three pictures, changing the light just a little each time. I take one set on a dark background and one on a light. I do the same all over again with lots of light and then natural light. If they don't look good I start again (with glass this happens a lot!!!!) When I do the re-takes I try using different colored background, I even use a piece of glass for the background, for some reason this works very well sometimes. What are you trying to photograph? You are welcome to contact me through eBay if you need more help. Jo
I have three different backgrounds that I photograph glass on - and I usually use each one for each piece. It's a lot of work, but each piece of glass photographs differently and what looks good on the dark blue might not look good on the dark green. And sometimes the white background helps to showcase a detail.
The best way is a full length mirror as it gets a great reflection of front and back but the only problem there is me, myself and Irene in the background. Like smokeymountainblaze said, there is no right or wrong, lighting and the background play a big role in just right pic's. Glass is my love and I collect the huge 60's & 70's vases, both tall and trim and the huge goblets. I love the reflections I get from the sun coming through the glass. I just bought a top from you!
