I have a 2001 GMC 2500 HD Crew Cab. It has the 8.1 lt. V-8 Gas engine with the Allison Trans. Gas mileage is not good, but it will pull a house down! I tow a 12,000 lb. boat with it. Does a great job and love the Allison tranny, especially on hills.
I have a 1950 GMC 3/4 ton pick up. Frame up restored. It took me 3 years to restore it and many, many hours. It has the rebuilt 228ci engine with a rebuilt 4 speed transmission. Even though it is done, it will never really be done because it is a great diversion from the stress of running a business.
I have a 1995 GMC lowered full custom 4x4...It sits on a set of 20's wrapped with 305/50's...The motor is a supercharged/intercooled, water/meth injected, nos injected, 5.0 with about 400rwhp...it has a 5 speed stick and 4 wheel drive, with a 14bolt and 3:73 gears. I just completed a frame-off restoration underneath and am working on finishing the body work...Every panel on the body has been modified or replaced by a fiberglass aftermarket piece. It should look real cool when it's done. It is real fun to drive.
I actually have two GMCs. The first one is a 2005 GMC Sierra SLT 2500 HD 6.6 Duramax Turbo Diesel 4x4 4-door. The second is a 2005 GMC Yukon XL SLT, 5.3, 4x4. Both have been great vehicles. I use my truck to pull a 30' travel trailer, which it pulls with ease. The Yukon is used for trips and has a DVD for the kids.
I have two GMC's, love them both. The first is a rare 1991 GMC Jimmy ST Earnhardt Edition (2 door) all black with the one red stripe near the lower part of the truck. Had it redone once, new engine, body (we all know how that style SUV's rust!!) and now it is in storage. My daily driver is a gorgeous GMC Jimmy Black Diamond Edition. LOVE THIS TRUCK!! What I love most about GMC is that they come out with the special edition vehicles like the ST and the Diamond Edition, unlike Chevrolet. The DE is a great luxury SUV but with the power to tow if needed and gets you thru the snow. Of course, any GM products are going to have their notorious issues (heater cores!!) I think my Diamond is getting ready to need one, and have replaced two in my '91 ST. I looked for two years to find the ST-Earnhardt #3 Edition, and found my Diamond in Austin Texas. Luckily no rust--yet. I hated to drive it back up north from Texas and the first time I drove it in the salt hurt--bad! Great to meet all you fellow GMC truck fans! T in northern IL
2007 Classic Duramax HD Sierra Crew Cab.Pretty much a 6000lb sports car. I just about have it broken in at 19000 miles and am getting much better milage,...last tank at about 18mpg. Love it
just bought a 03 gmc 2500hd 6.0 auto.w/9' utility bed ext cab 2wd bucket seats all power bose sys. love it! been a bb ford man all my life! hope this treats me as well! put a ton of 57's on her last week and didn't know it was there! trucks in great shape. 120,000 miles. do you know any thing about computer chips f/ gas milage/ power? do they help and are they worth the money?? the truck weighs 7500 lb. 12 mpg. not to bad but would like to do a little better!
Yes I have a 05' GMC 2500 HD and it's the best truck I'v ever had 6.0 auto I tow a small trailer some times and hul work tools most of the time good mileage on the hiway but not so good on city streets.
I have an 2008 GMC Yukon, dark blue in color. It does great with studded tires and 4x4 here in interior Alaska. Awesome vehicle and has never once been to the shop in the year that I've owned it...amazing.
