Im looking to buy new grips for my Cleveland VAS+ irons, I am a brand new golfer and know very little. Can someone help me to understand the discriptions on ebay? I have right handed standard clubs in really great shape other then worn, shinny grips.

If you go to www.golfsmith.com they sell all kinds of golf club components.Heads, shafts and grips they have everything and there are some suggestions for selecting grips. I used to use them for all of my club making and repair work .

What are you looking for? Core diameter (usually listed .580 or .600) is the inside diameter of the grip. Larger core sizes are generally used for longer clubs with larger shaft diameters. Most .580 core grips will fit your irons. Grips also vary in firmness, tackiness, and overall size. Smaller hands generally work well with undersized (sometimes displayed as minus, i.e -1/64), average size hands are standard or midsize, large hands oversize. Firmness is mostly preference. The firmer grips generally allows more feedback to the hands. Softer grips allow the hands to be more relaxed, but may also deaden feel. My personal preference are super tacky softer grips (like Winn) on my woods, firmer, super torque resistant (Lamkin)in my irons, and super-firm in my wedges(Lamkin again).
