I am looking for a GPS receiver that plugs into a DB9 port. I don't need any other options, so I am looking for an inexpensive solution. Any suggestions?
I have an old Garmin III+ that I've had for years. It has a port on the back for + & - voltage and two other pins for serial communications. It actually came with a 9 pin serial cable to download maps. They are almost bulletproof if you can find one.
Globalmap 100 has serial plugs. Design is more than 10 yars old I've used one for a long time. Bought a backup that died fairly quickly. Its hard on batteries but work ok if you have access to power as in car or boat.
