I have been playing guitar over 30 years and I have tried a wide variety of acoustic guitar pickup systems from the early days of the Martin thinline pickup.
I would like to find out more about what pick up systems acoustic guitar players are using and why they like them.
To date, my favorite pick up (which I have installed in three of my guitars) is the K & K Pure Mini. It's the closest sound I have found to actually miking my guitars from a passive pickup system.
Hi, I have a Fishman Blender on my Taylor and it seems to work quite well, however it lacks that live mic sound even when using the built-in mic. Go figure. I am considering having one of my guitars retro-fitted with the Taylor Expression System. My music partner has this in both of his Taylors and it sounds great very live and much better overall than the Fishman, which in fairness, is 10 year old technology. Surprisingly, Taylor will install this system in non-Taylor guitars. I was going to buy a new Taylor, but they have widened the neck a bit and I don't care for the change. Hope this helps you out player. Play on, Allen.
I am using L R Baggs Element Active System. I first used it when I bought my Gibson Hummingbird. It came with the system. I now have installed it on my other guitars. If it's good enough for Gibson, It's good enough for me. Sounds great. You can get more info a LRBaggs.com
