How many times have you heard that ? My friend just bought a Road King he turned 67 , he`s just like a kid all over again , another acquaintance was 82 riding a Goldwing , he dropped it and could`nt pick it up ..... that`s when he decided to "pack it in" , I turned 57 this summer , bought a 2007Heritage Softail , my 2nd Harley , every time I`m about to go for a ride I get excited and have this little smile when I`m on the road , this helped decide 3 of my friends to get a Harley ( not the weird smile) they told me I seemed to enjoy it so much ..... so bottom line , time to get a bike is now , ride on , enjoy life

I ran into a guy at Hannagan Meadow AZ, 9100 ft elev.
He was in his late 70's riding a 94 glide with 89k miles.

Used to be you could get the trophy at a rally for oldest rider if you were 70 now you better be over 84 to get the gold.

I have 35 years of riding and hope for 25 more.

Hey who said that we are too old. My ol'man is 64 and has been riding all his life. Three years ago we were on a run in Big Bear and unfortunately like the ol wise tale the accident happen one mile from your house well it did. Sober and all that we need to stop to rest our ol'asses and dumped the bike. Well long story made short he lost his good ol kicker foot right below the knee and yet we are still riding. Our closest friend is a Korean Vet and patch holder, over 70 and still riding and I can go on, and on, and on with true stories like this.

Hi! My husband, our sons, and our daughter all love to ride. So do my grandkids.

My husband has a Deuce and a Lowrider. For comfort, I prefer the Deuce. So, maybe I am too old for some bikes!

Anyway, speaking of too old... In the town where I live I often see an elderly gentleman on a HD. He even has a special sort of back pack with his small oxygen tank in it. He even has the oxygen going into his nose while riding.

An interesting sight!

I recently lost my husband in a boating accident and turned to motorcycle riding to fill some of the void. Ive had my license since I was 19 yrs old. I recently turned 50 and my friends think Im nuts. I now own a 1990 Harley 1340 Lowrider convertible and bought a 2006 Harley 1200 Sportster. If you have nobody to ride with might I suggest you find your local hog owners chapter and join up. I belong to two groups and we have had a fantastic summer riding everywhere!! Theres nothing like that wind blowing through your hair, heading down the highway. Im gonna drive til they have to pry my cold, dead fingers from the handlebars!! haha!

You know, that we spend the first year of our lives learning to balance on two feet. We then spend a summer or two learning to balance a bike. Soon we are doing some pretty amazing sometimes stupid things but our balance is the best it will ever be during our lifetimes. For some reason we stop doing things that require us to balance and as we age we also get weaker. I for one ride 12 months out of the year both motorcycles and bicycles. I have this idea that balance is a skill that must be practiced non-stop in order for us to maintain strength and avoid fall injuries as we age. I wonder if there is anyone out there that agrees with this idea? I plan to ride until I can no longer breath. Then I will quit. So when you see me riding my dad's 47 Indian at the age of 92 you can ask me how this whole idea worked out.

As you get older I don't think you need to drop your passion for riding, just make adjustments.I know a guy that rode Goldwings most of his adult life and put serious miles on his bikes. When he got into his 70's and started losing some of his strength he just converted his new Goldwing into a trike. This way he still gets to enjoy what we all love about riding motorcycles, but doesn't have to worry about holding one up! I am only 48, but I will make that transition when the time comes....

Hey folks! Not formally introduced here yet. I'm 54 years young and a proud first time owner of (any bike) an 07 Dyna Low Rider. I should copy this page and send it to my Dad (75 yrs old). He stopped riding (only metric) a few years before I got my bike. He suffers from raging cluster headaches and has had too many "mini strokes" to feel safe on a bike. Just walking, he feels challenged. I'd say his wisdom to discontinue riding will keep him around for the grandchildren. I inherited his leather vest, (he likes trying it on) and I made it my own by adding classic Harley touches. After a two hour ride to his home, (20 minutes south of Yosemite National Park) he greets me and my Dyna. With engine "off", he is quick to hop in the saddle for a quick trip down memory lane! Some missed opportunities can never be recovered and I regret not having shared a lane with my Dad.........
