slip-on mufflers

I want to change out the stock mufflers on a 09 electra glide ultra classic to something like a rinehart or klock werks slip on. As I do not like the exhaust sound from the stock muffler...to sedate. I had no problems when I changed out the same on an 01 road king but know that the mo co has made substantial changes between these 2 stated model years. What input can someone who has actually done this give me....hip me up.
Useful Funny
When you change the back pressure in the exhaust it changes the fuel/air ratio. Fuel injected bikes require remapping when you do this. The stealership charges about $500 to do this. The best thing to do is change it out to a Thundermax with auto tune. It tunes itself as you ride.Since it auto tunes if you make anymore changes in the future you will be covered and won't have to pay for remapping.
Good Luck

I too have kept the stock mufflers on my '08 Low-Rider. It gives me enough sound but not too much. I never did like straight pipes anyway. Never ran them on my '77 Sportster.

I put Suppertrapp SE slipons on my Roadking with a big air kit and a power commander.
The SE's are advertized as being only 3 db louder than stock. Sound better than stock and much louder than you would think. Good performance also.

I did have to have it dyno tuned for the best performance overall.

Ride with Pride.

On a limited budget you can add the slip-ons only and be fine but you will see no HP increase. Next best (low budget option) is slip-ons and high flow air filter and the stage 1 download for a minor HP increase.

RTM may be right but logic says makeing her breathe better will only make her leaner. It is probably on the verge of coughing and spitting right now.
These bikes are so leaned out for EPA guidelines they barely run off the floor. If you get your engine too lean you are looking at the real possibility of burning a hole in the piston. I'm not trying to discourage you but an lean mixture makes everything run hot includeing blueing your pipes.

Where did Dogs post go?
He explained it to where everyone could understand the way it works. No profanity no conflict just advice.

Why would people flag this?

I wondered what happened to Dog's post. I knew I had seen it and then the next time I looked it was gone.

it's fairly obvious - being that dog_xx97 is in a league all his own, i would say it's a classic case of raging jealousy!!
