To be honest one has to remember all that paved the road for the music today, I was made in the 80's and influence my friends and youngsters still. (Being that I am still young myself) I listen to DOKKEN and Iron Maiden and W. Nelson, as well as Kataklysm and Deicide, Skilab, Ozzy, Scorpions, Jack White, Ynque Malmsteen, Bob Seger, and Distrubed... the list is endless.
If you're a guitar fan, you pretty much have to still listen to 80's (and early 90's) metal. This "new" emo crap is way too anti-guitar for me!! I still listen to the killer guitar riffs of the 70's (Skynyrd, Led Zep, Floyd, et al.) But there are a few bands keeping the guitar solo alive and well!! I listen to what rocks not to what "they" say is good. It doesn't matter how old or new it is! And by the way--I Miss EXTREME!! Nuno is a guitar god!
I still listen to Maiden and Priest quite a bit. I was never big on the hair bands, but Cinderella and Skid Row always made really good songs. To this day I still will listen to the old DRI, Suicidal, Kreator, and Slayer stuff.
Yea! Really is there any other kind? Not a big fan of the watered down stuff they come out with now. Happiness is listening to stuff that kicks A, and makes you deaf for at least a few hours! Just imagine what the world would be like without it- I shudder at the thought...
RATT was my favorite band when I was a teenager. I never missed their concerts when they came to Southern California(Orange Pavillion, San Bernardino)!!!
yes 80`s metal is the best. 100 % talent with great uplifting songs unlike todays gazing at your shoelaces and thinking its cool to be miserable crap that masquerades as metal. Faves have to be RATT, JUDAS PRIEST, WARRANT, AC/DC,IRON MAIDEN, SAVATAGE, HELLOWEEN, DIO, POISON, SLAYER, METAL CHURCH, MOTLEY CRUE, MEGADETH, TIGERTAILZ, Y&T, DOKKEN, STRYPER, TNT and SKID ROW just to name a few. On the plus side for the new millennium, old school metal seems to be making a comeback with JORN, PRIMAL FEAR, MASTERPLAN, GAMMA RAY, ASTRAL DOORS, THRESHOLD, RHAPSODY all relighting the metal torch and displaying all the classic traits of classic 80`s metal ie proper singing, guitar pyrotechnics, melody, choruses that stick in your head for days and big fat heavy riffs.......
Bro, so many people say that music is crappy.... but it is those same guys that were head banging to all of that classic music back then... Ratt Dokken, Poison, and the list goes on!!!! Its all good
80's Metal For Sure! I listen to All the metal of the 80's!! I was at the Ratt n Bonjovi concert at the Spectrum in Philly back in 86? I might have the ticket stub? My 1st concert Motley Crue Theatre of Pain "85" at the Spectrum, I know I have that stub, I met Heather Locklear there she signed my ticket! Twisted Sister n Dokken, I think was another show at the Spectrum, I was there! Ozzy, Judas Preist, Def Leopard, Krokus, Iron Maiden, Dio, Metallica, Ted Nugent, Whitesnake, Blotto, Accept, Van Halen! I could go on n on! I I I LOVE THE 80's music!!! I listen to it ALL The Time! I Believe In Rock n Roll!! I don't think there has been to many good bands since then? Where have all the Good Bands Gone?? Glad some of them get together, now n then! Keep on Playin' that Rock n Roll Metal Music! 80's Metal Yea n Yea! YEAH!!! Rock ON!! :))))
ya George Lynch is amazing but they are hair metal, i mean not like poisen or any other "gay" bands but still around that time. thats what turns most people off about them.
HELL YEAH !!!!!! And always will,Guitar Rock kicks ??? !!!! My baby bro had a band in the 80's and the early 90's called Love Survival and Drive ( LSD ) back in our state of Texas.Awesome music !!!! I still listen to it and appreciate it more now as an adult than I did as a teen.I have a great respect for those that opened the door to the metal we have today !! My favorite all time 80's band I would have to say are Rush, Bon Jovi,Skid Row,Whitesnake & Cinderella - I have at least 50 more - LOL And let us not forget The ALL almighty Ozzie !!!!! But I guess he goes without saying.You are not a true fan of Rock if he is not on your list!!
