Hi, my name is Jennifer, and I am new to this neighborhood. I joined, not only because I LOVE HGTV and all my design mags, but because I am remodeling/decorating our first house... YIPPEE! I appreciate many styles and do not want to stick to one particular style. It is actually harder, in my opinion, to do this and wondered if there was anyone out there who has some advice. I have from french bergere chairs all the way to peruvian tooled leather ottomans, and have recently purchased some swag RETRO lamps here on Ebay. THANKS!!!!!!
I also love HGTV and I think my style is eclectic. I have a mixture of mission/arts & crafts, contemporary (a la Pottery Barn), and a few antiques. I've done a few rooms in themes: I have a nautical family room and a beachy guest room. I think the trick to electic decorating is to make sure that it IS ecclectick, that is, a true mix of styles and not one style with a couple of odd pieces. I also think it helps to have a unifying feature of some sort, such as color, to tie it all together and make sure that it "goes."
