Hello. Read the book and saw the film. I thought the book was much better, had good character development, was better at building tension, but isnt that what all books do? The film was well done, the characters played their roles well & the FX were decent. Look for the unrated version, which is the one I own, to get the alternate endings. I liked the original theatrical ending the best. I still liked the novel more, but the films is definitely worth a look if you havent done so already. Hope this helps.
