We have a stables nearby that "allows" the public to come and clean out stalls and bush horses for $25.00. So you can pretend it is your own horse. $25.00 each visit. And it is working...people are flocking to the stables.
Just a thought...

Sounds like they have a good thing going. I think most horse owner's may not be equipped to handle that kind of thing. But if it's working for the stable, it has to be helping feed them. It's kinda ironic, most people pay or give lessons to get stalls mucked. LOL....
As a tack seller, I've noticed a down slide on tack. I think that with the increase in feed & loss of jobs (among other things) most are just doing what they can to keep their horses & feed them for the most part.

The recession does one thing: It makes people come up with all kinds of ideas to keep things going.
I have started to supplement with online marketing and have helped some others get set up with their online presence see: http://InternetTrainingSite.com
I do have a great dressage saddle on ebay that just doesn't seem to find a new owner...I agree that tack sales are down.
