I have an idea that I see many other smaller transport people use. I've picked up some hauls locally this way also. I don't really do hauling but someone saw me when my trailer at a horse auction (i had bought one) and they offered me $$ if I could take the ones they bought home after the sale. So you can find the sales, OBS for example, in Ocala FL has HUGE Fall, yearling and mixed sales annually. Print up cards, flyers, place them on the tables inside the building where other people put cards and ads for other businesses. Walk around the grounds and pass out your cards to people buying! You will get business like that or else they will use the large companies that work the sales! Ocala is a good place and they have sales starting soon, if they haven't already started! You can get loads of info on other sales (Miami, NY, NJ) that happen at set times each year. Work those sales auctions and you can enhance your transportation presence.
