No I wouldn't. If you had the money to spend, go for it. A good quality gun will be the best investment you can get and a very less sore shoulder.

In fact i was going to buy the hubby a gun before his return from deployment but he caught wind of that and told me to hold on till he gets home.
He doesn't know about all the other hunting supplies i bought for him as a welcome home gift.
