Real simple keep the gas tank full, 200 lbs over the rear tires, go to direct tire and order a set of 17 inch rims with Bridgestone Blizzak tires. Keep the traction on unless you need to rock the car back and forth, or are starting out on ice. The Blizzak tires are awesome, I have parked on a hill and could not stand up on the icy surface to get out of the car.
Oder them in the summer or you will be out of luck.
