Replacing a NP231 with a NP242 in a Jeep Cherokee or Comanche 5sp

I want to replace my NP231 with a NP242 so that I can have Full and Part time all wheel drive has any one done this swap I have heard of others going the other way but none this way. Can anyone give tips and hints?
