IN LESS THAN 2 weeks - "Black Friday" the busiest shopping day of the year!
November 27th, 2009 - Day after Thanksgiving!
BUT - CYBER MONDAY - November 30th, 2009 is even more important for e-commerce sellers.....
Cyber-Monday has come to be known as the busiest INTERNET shopping day of the year...
what happens is - people go to their local stores and mall Friday, Saturday and Sunday....Monday, they go back to work and shop shop shop the internet for all the things that were overpriced or sold-out of their local stores...
Get your Ebay stores and Bonanzle Booths and all other sites ready!
The past 4 years....my biggest sales day has indeed been Cyber-Monday!
I don't know if there is such a website - you would have to pull up each store!
LOL!!
I don't go to Malls or dept stores, so the sales there don't interest me!
maybe Walmart once or twice a year...but that's about it! I have a 24 hour Walgreens 3 blocks from my house and a 24hour CVS across the street from that - if thay don't have what I need there.....I don't need it!
It's the online sales that I am interested in...and if this week is any indication...sales should be through the roof! I have had some great sales in my store this week!
There is a website, blackfriday.info...and some deals ARE online. I had to replace my laptop and somehow found a Dell link with around 33% off and got a great deal; the next morning, the sale was not available anymore....ironic :)
"Cyber Monday isn't the busiest online shopping day of the year. (2008 - tuesday Dec. 9th and Monday Dec. 15th were the two biggest online shopping days last year.)"
So, if Thanksgiving weekend and Cyber Monday aren't "great" for you as a seller, don't be disappointed.
Just keep promoting, blogging, posting, etc. Consider moving some potential sellers out of your Store and into Fixed Price or Auction listings.
Look at trends. Listen to commercials from TV, print, direct mail catalogs, radio, 'the red carpet', etc. Can you promote something you have that is the same or similar to the ad message the 'big boys' are paying for?
Do you have black jewelry? Colored diamonds? Pearls? etc.
You are welcome! I did figure out how I got to the Dell link with the extra $200 off. On the blackfriday website they list companies; I selected Dell. At the bottom of the page below all of Dell's blackfriday deals were two link's to Dell.com great deals. I selected one of them and that is how I got to the dea l did. If I go directly to dell.com, the same computer is $200 more :) All of my equipment is dying on me. My camera is starting to show squiggly lines off/on....so much that you can't focus on anything, they take up the whole screen..odd, and I don't think it is the batteries.
