Has anyone else been following the discussion on Auction Bytes regarding the changes? According to what I read, Google basically only picks up the item specifics, does not pick up any listings with embedded html, so no pictures in the listings. There's other little picky stuff which Dale's talked about too.

I have tons of embedded html and the vintage jewelry category doesn't allow for a lot of item specifics and the one's they do allow don't always make a lot of sense. I do see my Google numbers are down. I wonder how many of us are being hurt by these changes.

Hi Sherry....

yes, it was my understanding as well that listings without item specifics really are ignored by Google.

As my items expire....I am redoing every single one so that all item specifics available are used!

That's the best I can do!

Item specifics...are you referring to the drop-down selections you get when you first list your item? I try to fill in as many as possible, even the redundant ones (e.g. "Metal - 925 Sterling Silver, Purity - 925 Sterling silver"
However, I have noticed sometimes when I call up a listing to change something the items specifics are messed up. Example, I called up a ring, under "Created by" it listed 5 3/4 which was the ring size. This has happened more than once so if this is going to be a driving point for Google I guess I should check all my listings to ensure accuracy.

It might be worth the effort to double check your listings asa well.
